Athletic Therapy is a Specialty Service & for billing purposes, this is not the same as a Physiotherapist. Check with your insurance before booking to see if Athletic Therapy is covered. If you do not have coverage & must pay out of pocket - we know you will not be disappointed with your choice to see an Athletic Therapist.

Anne is from Calgary, AB and received her Bachelor of Kinesiology with Distinction from the University of Calgary. Upon completing her Kinesiology degree, she enrolled in the Athletic Therapy Post-Bachelor Certificate program at Mount Royal University, finishing on the Presidents Honor Roll. While in school, Anne had the opportunity to work with many different teams including: Hockey, Football, Volleyball and Field Hockey.

Anne was certified as an Athletic Therapist in June of 2022 and is excited to embark on her career with Collegiate Sports Medicine.

Rebecca’s interest in the area of sports medicine began in her high school sports medicine class in Red Deer. You will be able to see her passion for sports and helping patients when you meet her. Her more than 20 years of field experience have been mainly in hockey, rugby, football and soccer. She has worked with Team Alberta in both hockey and rugby as well as Rugby Canada’s senior men’s team. As the Head Athletic Therapist for Roller Hockey Canada’s senior men’s team she has won 2 IIHF World Championships. Rebecca has been able to work at many major sporting events including- Canada Summer Games 2005 and 2009 organizing committee for 2019 Canada Winter Games, Alberta Summer Games and many national championships. She was also a part of the medical volunteers for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. Rebecca has taken many manual therapy courses throughout her career, including Active Release Techniques, to allow her to be a hands on therapist and loves the idea of using exercise to heal. Rebecca completed her Bachelor of Physical Education at the UofA (2000) and her Diploma in Sports Injury Management at Sheridan College in Ontario (2003). Rebecca opened COLLEGIATE SPORTS MEDICINE (OLDS) in 2011 after working at the main COLLEGIATE clinic in Red Deer since inception in 2003. Andrew grew up in La Crete, a small town in northern Alberta. He always had an interest in sports and played a little bit of everything while he was growing up. Currently, his primary sporting interests are curling, volleyball, and golf.

His passion for physiotherapy first started in high school with a fascination for human anatomy/physiology alongside his love of sports and his passion for helping people.

Andrew initially completed his bachelor’s degree with a major in kinesiology and then went on to graduate from the MSc Physiotherapy program at the University of Alberta.

Kevin grew up playing all sports possible and exploring the tundra in Rankin Inlet, Nunavut. While completing a degree in Kinesiology at the University of Lethbridge, he learned of athletic therapy while enrolled in a course on sports injury management. Upon completing his degree, he moved to Calgary to study Athletic Therapy at Mount Royal University and is now a Certified Athletic Therapist. He has worked with athletes in multiple sports of all levels, from youth to professional, including an internship with the Edmonton Elks football team.

Kevin’s focus is using exercise to prevent and help rehabilitate injuries and conditions. He has worked in multiple physiotherapy clinics, including a return-to-work program, and with clients with long-term disabilities to recover and get back to play or work.

Marcie genuinely enjoys her massage therapy career and specializes in therapeutic deep tissue techniques, sports massage, fire cupping and pregnancy massage. She thrives on the spirit of sporting events and being part of a team, the power of these dreams has allowed her to attend international competitions with both the National Women’s Hockey Team and the U22 Women’s Hockey Team. She has been trusted with the care of many Olympians and professional athletes in the CFL, NLL, and NHL throughout her massage career. Marcie was also the Massage Therapist for the Calgary Hitmen of the WHL for 9 seasons and has been a part of the Canadian Pro Rodeo Sports Medicine Team since 2011.

Marcie is a Registered Massage Therapist (2200 hours) with the Massage Therapist Association of Alberta and has been practicing full time since 2005. She started her education at the University of New Brunswick by earning a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. She continued to the Atlantic College of Therapeutic Massage to attain a Diploma in Massage Therapy and a specialized certificate in Sports Massage. She then moved to Alberta and attended Mount Royal University where she received her Advanced Certificate in Athletic Therapy.

Marcie joined Collegiate Sports Medicine Olds as a Massage Therapist in May 2017 and has also been using her Athletic Therapy knowledge and working as a Sports First Responder with the Olds College Broncos, Olds Grizzly’s Minor Hockey, and the Olds Jr & Sr Lacrosse teams since that time as well.

In 2019 Marcie decided to take her passion for massage therapy to another level by becoming a massage instructor at Robertson College and teaching the Advanced Massage Therapy (2200-hour program) students. By sharing her years of experiences in this career, she hopes to inspire the next generation of massage therapists to be equally as passionate about the career they have chosen.

When Marcie is not working you will most likely find her out hiking with her dogs, riding her horses or relaxing at home spending quality time with all of her furry and feathery animals. Her true passion is to rescue, rehabilitate and help re-home animals in need.
